CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Body and Face Moisturizer

Editor's Take

Few drugstore creams earn benchmark status, but this one does: superb barrier support, with a decidedly unclean and petrochemical-heavy ingredient philosophy.

Four-pillar formula scores

  • Efficacy: 8.5 / 10
  • Modern Tech: 7.0 / 10
  • Clean Beauty: 3.1 / 10
  • Sustainability: 5.9 / 10

The Verdict

Efficacy is above the middle, driven by Petrolatum occlusion, Hyaluronic Acid hydration, and three Ceramides supporting barrier repair. Technology is Modern, with MVE delivery and skin-identical Cholesterol and Phytosphingosine giving the blend more substance than a basic body cream. Clean standards are where it falls short, thanks to Dimethicone, parabens, and a petroleum-derived base, while sustainability remains a secondary concern. A credible benchmark for dry, barrier-impaired face and body skin, not a clean-beauty pick.
