CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Body and Face Moisturizer

Editor's Take

Still the drugstore barrier cream to beat for dry, compromised skin, but the clean-beauty shopper will spot petrolatum, Dimethicone, and parabens fast.

Four-pillar formula scores

  • Efficacy: 8.5 / 10
  • Modern Tech: 7.8 / 10
  • Clean Beauty: 3.1 / 10
  • Sustainability: 1.8 / 10

The Verdict

For efficacy, this lands in the Exceptional Efficacy Fit band: glycerin, petrolatum, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, cholesterol, and phytosphingosine make a strong case for dry, compromised, or over-washed skin. The technology is Modern too, with CeraVe’s MVE delivery and skin-identical lipids doing more than basic lotion work. The trade-off is plain: the same formula leans on petrolatum, Dimethicone, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, and propylparaben, so its clean and sustainability scores fall hard. A credible barrier-repair staple, not a clean-beauty pick.
