CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser

by CeraVe · skin_care

Editor's Take

CeraVe gets the treatment-cleanser balance right: meaningful exfoliation without treating the skin barrier as collateral damage, which puts it ahead of most pore-clearing washes.

Four-pillar formula scores

  • Efficacy: 8.2 / 10
  • Modern Tech: 6.8 / 10
  • Clean Beauty: 7.3 / 10
  • Sustainability: 9.1 / 10

The Verdict

Salicylic Acid and Gluconolactone tackle clogged pores and rough texture, while ceramides, cholesterol, and Niacinamide help cushion the usual drying trade-off. The sulfate-free sarcosinate and taurate base is modern and skin-conscious, though the PEG thickener and synthetic chelators keep it outside stricter clean-beauty territory. Strong efficacy and excellent sustainability make this a credible treatment cleanser, not merely a foaming acid wash.
