Moroccanoil Treatment Purple Hair Oil

Editor's Take

Sold as an oil, built as a silicone serum; the violet pigments earn their keep, but the category claim still oversells what is in the bottle.

Four-pillar formula scores

  • Efficacy: 7.2 / 10
  • Modern Tech: 5.5 / 10
  • Clean Beauty: 7.5 / 10
  • Sustainability: 5.9 / 10

The Verdict

Marketed as an oil, but the ingredients tell a different story: Dimethicone leads this silicone serum, while argan oil sits further down the list. Violet pigments Cl 60730 and Cl 60725 give it a High Efficacy profile for smoothing blonde or grey hair and visually muting brassiness. Its High Clean profile is tempered by undisclosed fragrance, while persistent Dimethicone helps explain the Lower Sustainability Fit. A credible color-correcting shine serum, not an argan-oil treatment.
