Necessaire The Shampoo | Hyaluronic Acid

Editor's Take

One of the better sulfate-free shampoos on the shelf: mild lather, real scalp-care extras, and no silicone gloss trick pretending to be health.

Four-pillar formula scores

  • Efficacy: 8.1 / 10
  • Modern Tech: 7.8 / 10
  • Clean Beauty: 9.3 / 10
  • Sustainability: 8.0 / 10

The Verdict

The clean score is Excellent at 9.3, and the efficacy score sits in the Strong band at 8.1, which fits what is in the bottle. Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, and Cocamidopropyl Betaine give it a creamy sulfate-free cleanse without the stripped squeak. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Niacinamide, and Sodium Hyaluronate make the scalp-care angle feel earned rather than sprinkled on for decoration. Not COSMOS-certifiable, but as a daily shampoo for sensitive or dryness-prone scalps, this is a polished modern wash.
