CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Face Sheer Tint

by CeraVe · skin_care

Editor's Take

Strong mineral protection with real CeraVe barrier help, but the silky tint leans on petrochemical slip and polymers, not clean-beauty purity.

Four-pillar formula scores

  • Performance: 8.5 / 10
  • Innovative Ingredients: 7.5 / 10
  • Clean Standards: 4.3 / 10
  • Formula Sustainability: 6.9 / 10

The Verdict

The protection is the main reason to buy it: 10% Zinc Oxide plus 5.5% Titanium Dioxide gives this a sturdy mineral SPF base, and the tint helps soften the cast. CeraVe also does its usual good thing with ceramides, Niacinamide, and Sodium Hyaluronate, so it behaves more skin-care-adjacent than many drugstore mineral sunscreens. The trade-off is what's making it feel wearable: Isohexadecane, synthetic esters, PEG chemistry, polymers, and standard preservatives pull it well away from strict clean standards. Worth it as a daily tinted mineral SPF for barrier-minded skin, not as a clean formula flex.
