COSRX The Hyaluronic Acid 3 Serum with Amino Acids + Ceramide NP

by COSRX · skin_care

Editor's Take

COSRX gives dehydration a convincing answer: 3% sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, and little need for theatrics. The ceramide is supporting cast, not the star.

Four-pillar formula scores

  • Innovative Ingredients: 7.5 / 10
  • Clean Standards: 7.5 / 10
  • Formula Sustainability: 8.2 / 10

The Verdict

COSRX sells this serum on deep hydration, improved moisture retention, quick absorption, and a smooth, non-greasy finish for all skin types, especially dry, dehydrated, rough, or sensitive skin. The strongest case is hydration: sodium hyaluronate is fifth and explicitly listed at 3%, with glycerin adding credible moisture-binding support. Betaine and Sodium PCA lend support, but the amino acids, Ceramide NP, cholesterol, and phytosphingosine are present in small amounts, so the barrier story deserves less emphasis than the hydration story. The combination is well judged for moisture replenishment rather than demonstrably novel technology; the captured page provides no clinical results establishing its promised absorption and finish. Green chemistry principles expose some compromises in dimethicone and synthetic acrylate polymers, while drying alcohol is thirty-ninth, not a leading ingredient. Formula sustainability is favorable overall but tempered by persistent dimethicone and Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, with no basis here for calling the finished serum biodegradable. For morning or evening use when dehydration brings flaking or makeup clumping, this has a credible job to do and a formula equipped to do it.
